A Brief History Of Park Hill
Park Hill sits on a bluff above the Fort Worth Zoo and has large Spanish and Tudor homes. The streets are leafy and clean and the houses are well kept in this middle-class suburb. The area was settled in 1915 when an artist convinced the local authority to contribute 6 acres of land to build a hospital for children. This happened and the land was used to raise animals and plant vegetables and fruits to feed the children. Ultimately after 40 years, the hospital was abandoned and now homes stand there.
Education
The area is home to elementary and middle schools and a high school and the Texas Christian University. If you have children there is a good range of educational facilities nearby.
Entertainment
There are quite a few restaurants in and around Park Hill including Zomato that appears to serve fusion food and gets very good reviews. You have access to the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and many other galleries and museums. There is a lot of history in and around Park Hill and Fort Worth, and you will be able to visit the Stockyards where the longhorn cattle were once taken as the center of the cow industry. When the railway first went in, this was the center of the cattle trade in Texas. (1876)
