Located on the Southeast of the Texas Panhandle, Fort Worth TX is the fifth-largest city in the state. With a 2021 population of 935,508, it is the sixteenth-largest city in the United States. The city was founded as an army outpost on the Trinity River in 1849. After several years, the railroads brought wealth and population to Fort Worth. The Texas Frontier Centennial, a celebration of the city’s history, took place in 1936. Over two million people attended the festivities. Several landmark buildings were constructed during the Centennial. The Will Rogers Auditorium, built for the Centennial, is still standing today. In addition, the Fort Worth Museum of Art, the Fort Worth Aviation Museum, and the National Cowgirl Museum are also located in downtown Fort Worth. These museums feature artifacts and photography collections.
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country. It has experienced 7.7% job growth over the last year. The region is home to major companies such as American Airlines, AT&T, and GM Financial. The area is also home to leading industries in the fields of technology, manufacturing, defense, and oil and gas.
The city is home to 60 colleges and universities. Several top-rated schools are located in Fort Worth, including Texas Christian University, which is the state’s oldest institution of higher education. In-state tuition is available for many of these schools. The city has a great public education system. It is also home to several world-class museums. In addition, there are many festivals and concerts.
The city is known for its sports culture, and fans of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M University can watch the teams play in the AT&T Stadium. In addition, the city is home to the world’s largest indoor rodeo. Other attractions include the Cowtown Coliseum, the official state music of Texas, and the Fort Worth Aviation Museum, which features airplanes from different periods.
