South Hulen Street forms the eastern edge of Overton Woods. The neighborhood’s northern boundary is the Clear Fork of the Trinity River itself. Bellaire Drive South passes through the community. It also separates Overton Woods from Tanglewood and Hartwood Circle. All of the restaurants and retail in the area are along Hulen Street. The Stonehedge Clan subdivision is south of Overton Woods.

Overton Woods is a neighborhood full of single-family homes. This is a high-end neighborhood. The average home is valued at a little less than a million dollars. Most of the retail and shopping are located on Hulen Street north of Bellaire Drive South.

Chisholm Trail Parkway and Bryant Irvin Road are a short distance to the west. The Chisholm Trail Parkway is the only reason why Fort Worth Country Day School isn’t in biking distance for residents.

The average walk score in Overton Woods is 24. The public transit score is 25. It received a bike score of 41. This makes Overton Woods a very car-dependent neighborhood. On the other hand, you can take Hulen Street south to Loop 820 and Interstate 20. Then you’re at Hulen Mall

 

The closest big park is long, narrow Hartwood Park. Ironically, that park is bounded by Overton Park Drive East and Overton Park Drive West, though the park is considered to be in the Stonehenge Clan subdivision. You can take Bellaire Drive South / West Berry Street to the parks near TCU like the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. This puts Overton Woods within convenient commuting distance of TCU.

Hulen Street and Chisholm Trail Parkway cross the Trinity River. So does Clearfork Main Street, though that doesn’t intersect with Hulen Street until you’re in Hartwood Circle. That neighborhood is named for Hartwood Drive; that namesake street stretches from Hulen Street to the Colonial Country Club.
