Located in the state of Texas, Dallas is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. The Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area has a population of about five million people. The metropolitan area consists of three cities and many suburbs.

The climate is moderate in the winter, with average temperatures close to 34 degrees in January. It typically receives about 39 inches of rain each year, which is about an inch more than the national average.

Dallas is a big city, but it is also a very walkable city. Uptown is the most walkable neighborhood in Dallas. This area includes a variety of cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The area is also home to several art galleries.

Dallas has several public schools in addition to private schools. The Dallas Independent School District is the tenth largest school district in the United States, with 220 schools, including ten specialized high schools. The Dallas County Community College District has seven colleges located throughout Dallas County. Approximately 100,000 students attend these universities each semester.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area is a popular vacation destination with more than two million visitors a year. Some visitors take a walking tour of the historic West End. In addition, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is nearby. The 66-acre garden hosts various family events throughout the year. The garden also features a popular summer concert series.
