Bluebonnet Hills Neighborhood

Bluebonnet Hills is a small neighborhood in downtown Fort Worth. It is directly south of Berry Street and the sprawling TCU campus. It is west of University Drive and the Bluebonnet Park neighborhood. It includes Circle Park and Worth Hills Park. Depending on whose definition you use, Granbury Road or Hills Avenue form the southern edge of the neighborhood. Devitt Street and Benbrook Boulevard pass through the area.

Bluebonnet Hills neighborhood’s real estate runs the gamut from two bedroom bungalows to sprawling six bedroom mansions. It has fewer multi-family residences than University Place and University West.

This community has an average walk score of 72. While that isn’t great, it made this neighborhood the fourth most walkable neighborhood in Fort Worth, since you can walk to restaurants, hair salons and grocery stores. It has a public transit score of 31. Most of the bus stops are along University Drive and along Blue Bonnet Circle at the southern edge of the neighborhood. It received a bike score of 58. Once you hit the TCU campus, it is a biker’s paradise due to the sheer number of bike trails. You have to cross Berry Street to reach those and local venues like the Lowdown Track and Field Complex.

Cleburne Road heads north and turns into Eighth Avenue. This gives you a fast route to the medical district. You can also take Berry Street to reach I-35 West. University Drive taken north connects you to I-30 and Chisholm Trail Parkway. The Fort Worth cultural district is on the other side of Interstate 30. That’s where you’d find Farrington Field, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and the Fort Worth Water Gardens.

You could also take McCart Avenue south to West Seminary Drive to the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. That makes Bluebonnet Hills a good choice for college students attending any institution in the area.
