Carver Heights East All You Need To Know

Carver Heights East was developed back in the mid-1940s for black professional people to settle in. It is near Central Meadows and the area of Carver Heights is not very pedestrian-friendly being mainly geared for car use, with no sidewalks. During the 1950s a lot of Ranch Style architecture sprang up. making the area popular and affordable for families.

Climate

The whole of Fort Worth is a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild to cool winters. Now and again a Tornado strikes, usually with lots of warning, and the building codes in the area mean that it is perfectly safe to live there. The houses are lovely family homes at an incredibly cheap price, making them excellent value for the first home buyer or young family.

Education

People in Carver Heights are aspirational and want the best for their children, and there are several primary schools and high schools to choose from. Nearby is the Texas Wesleyan University that is attended by many locals.

Employment

Because Carver Heights East was traditionally an area for black professionals, the neighborhood still contains doctors and dentists amongst others. The entire population of Fort Worth is made up of about 18% of black people with 72% non-Hispanic white. There is plenty of work available in the business sector, health, hospitality, and retail, and the suburb is an easy commute from the city.

Entertainment

You are never far from entertainment with restaurants and takeaway venues nearby, that suit the whole family.

Recreation

Sporting venues and recreational areas are plentiful, and if you play golf Fort Worth is home to the PGA tournament.

Take the children to the Fort Worth Stockyards to soak up the history, and eat at the famous Iron Chef Restaurant. Country Music venues like Billy Bobs are a hit with the whole family. Many people are now moving to Carver Heights East, to take advantage of the extremely cheap housing.
